The bakes

A little bit sweet, a little bit savoury and always baked fresh. Tap Add to enquiry on anything you fancy and it'll be waiting in your order form.

  • Bread

    Sourdough loaves

    Naturally leavened and hand-scored, with a blistered, crackly crust and a soft, open crumb. Made for toast, sandwiches or tearing straight from the loaf.

  • Pastry

    Croissants

    Laminated by hand for flaky, golden, buttery layers that shatter at the first bite. The proper weekend treat.

  • Sweet

    Berry crumble buns

    Pillowy buns piled with jammy berries, a creamy centre and buttery crumble, finished with a generous drizzle of icing.

    Red velvet cookies

    Thick, soft-baked and packed with white chocolate chunks. Fair warning: one is never quite enough.

    Viennese whirls

    Melt-in-the-mouth piped biscuits sandwiched with silky vanilla buttercream and a snowfall of icing sugar.

    Crumbly shortbread, a thick layer of soft caramel and a marbled chocolate top. Rich, in every sense.

A little bakery with a big heart

Richmond Bakes began the way the best bakeries do: with a home kitchen, a well-loved mixing bowl and a lot of flour on the worktop.

Everything is made by hand in small batches right here in Worcester: shaped, scored, piped and finished with care. Whether it's your Saturday sourdough or the cake for your wedding day, it's baked exactly the way I'd bake it for my own family.

Are you taking orders yet?

Richmond Bakes is a brand-new home bakery, so things are just getting started! Follow @richmondbakes for launch news, and do send an enquiry in the meantime, especially if you have a celebration coming up.

How far in advance should I order?

As early as you can. For everyday bakes a few days' notice is usually plenty. For celebration and wedding cakes, get in touch as soon as you have a date and I'll let you know if I'm available.

Where are you based? Do you deliver?

I'm a home bakery in Worcester. Orders are collected from my kitchen at a time we agree. If you'd like delivery, mention it in your enquiry and we'll see what's possible.

Can you cater for allergies and dietary needs?

Please tell me about any allergies or dietary requirements before you order. Everything is made in a home kitchen where common allergens, including gluten, milk, eggs and nuts, are handled, so I can't guarantee any bake is completely free from them. There's more detail on the allergen information page.

How do I pay?

Once we've agreed the details, I'll confirm your price and how to pay. For celebration cakes, a deposit may be needed to secure your date.

Can you recreate a cake I've seen online?

Inspiration photos are always welcome! I'll design something in the same spirit with my own handmade touches, so every cake is one of a kind.

How should I store my bakes?

Bread and pastries are best on the day they're baked, though sourdough keeps well for a few days wrapped in a tea towel (and makes the best toast). Keep cookies and traybakes in an airtight tin, and ask me for storage tips for your cake.
